Wellesley Plaza

Wellesley, Massachusetts

To accommodate the new Whole Foods store relocation, Meridian provided extensive site improvements to this existing retail plaza. The site plan included a second retail building that was renovated for re-tenanting. The two-building ground floor areas totaled 27,750 sq. ft. and 4,900 sq. ft., respectively.

Meridian provided civil engineering services including the improvement of vehicle and pedestrian access points as well as the design of stormwater management systems where none previously existed.  These systems improved water quality and reduced peak flow in accordance with state regulations.

Landscape architectural services included the design and detailing of streetscape open space in previously paved areas with the inclusion of native and drought tolerant plantings and new outdoor seating areas. Site improvements also included provisions for a GE® single pedestal electric vehicle charging station with parking configurations to service two vehicles. Other sustainable site features include solar-powered trash compactors, bottle recycling, LED lighting, bike racks, and a pedestrian connection to the adjacent public park.
