Donald E. Bowen Jr., PLS, Principal

Mr. Bowen has been the driving force for over 19 years with Meridian Associates. With his diversified technical and managerial skills he has strategically led Meridian’s growth in a wide variety of business opportunities. Mr. Bowen also focuses on the management of design professionals within the firm to accomplish the service objectives to exceed our clients’ expectations. Meridian has expanded to four offices including Beverly and Westborough, Massachusetts, Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Houston, Texas and continues to evaluate new options geographically; providing services in over 23 states and 2 foreign countries.

Mr. Bowen’s 27 years of experience encompasses innovative management techniques, expert witness testimony, site evaluation and strategic planning. He has consulted on projects associated with municipal, commercial, industrial and residential land use issues and regulatory permitting processes. Mr. Bowen is a Registered Land Surveyor in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine and is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers.

Mr. Bowen traveled with an engineering delegation of civil engineers to Cuba to meet with engineering and planning counterparts in cities throughout the country including Havana, Trinidad, Cienfuegos, Santa Clara, and Varadero. More recently, he participated in meetings with Elecon Engineering in India to pursue strategic opportunities for the delivery and installation of wind turbines in the U.S. Mr. Bowen is also a very active participant on several state and local committees, as well as community based organizations including the YMCA, New Orleans Habitat for Humanity, affordable housing growth management, renewable energy use and climate protection.

Richard E. Waitt Jr., PE, Principal

Mr. Waitt has 27 years of experience in site civil engineering including, private development, construction layout, specifications, municipal projects and has also served as an expert witness. In addition to business development his experience has been utilized on residential, commercial, and municipal land use development projects. As principal, Mr. Waitt is responsible for the oversight of the management team for site civil design and permitting of land development projects to further the objectives and exceed the expectations of our clients. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont and New Jersey.

Gregory B. Lawes, Principal

Mr. Lawes is a pioneering implementer in the 3D Laser Scanning industry. He joined Meridian after spending 20-plus years with an international, multi-discipline engineering and construction firm where he was most recently manager of their Laser Scanning Services Group.

Mr. Lawes' primary focus is the continued growth of Meridian’s Laser Scanning Services in the industrial plant, government services, civil and infrastructure markets, and the expansion into emerging markets and technologies. Client services for Laser Scanning and Dimensional Control Survey are provided both regionally and nationally.

He is responsible for developing, implementing and managing laser scanning and industrial survey technologies, and the oversight of scanning service projects. Projects are executed both regionally and nationally. Mr. Lawes provides project management for the New Jersey office Laser Scanning and Survey projects, and oversight of scanning service projects for the Beverly and Houston offices.

His diverse background began in Industrial Plant Design; specializations have been in Computer Visualization, Virtual Reality Simulation, 3D Modeling and design animation.
